BABTT membership is open to Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, and Medical Doctors who are committed to excellence in neurodevelopmental treatment for individuals with cerebral palsy or related neurological conditions. As the British Association of Bobath Trained Therapists, we unite a recognised, multidisciplinary group of experts across the UK and Ireland, nurturing clinical skill, debate and professional learning.

Becoming a member

To qualify for BABTT membership, you must be a Chartered Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Speech and Language Therapist, or Medical Doctor.

You should have successfully completed the intensive 8-week foundation Paediatric Bobath course, reside within the British Isles or Eire, and be a fully subscribed member of your professional body (such as CSP, RCOT, RCSLT, or BMA). Annual membership should be renewed by paying the subscription before 31 January each year.

Extra Support

We support those new to the Bobath approach, offering one year's free membership to therapists who have recently completed their foundation course, just mention this on your application.

Please note: eligibility to join BABTT workshops or practical events is reserved for members who have completed and passed the 8-week foundation course. Continued BABTT membership and ongoing accreditation also depend on maintaining your clinical practice and commitment to ongoing professional Bobath learning.
